Connor Moore made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Moore was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Erick Rupert, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Reck, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Huntingdon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bellefonte came up short against Central on Thursday and fell 8-3. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bellefonte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Vancas, who scored a run while going 1-for-6.
Huntingdon's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Bellefonte, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both Huntingdon and Bellefonte just can't seem to miss. Huntingdon has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Bellefonte struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
