Tanner Horn and Jordan Neugebauer made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Horn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Neugebauer tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Horn hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. At bat, Horn scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Neugebauer scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Horn a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Alex Schukei was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Jaxon Tweedt was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Red Bluff hadn't done well against Pleasant Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Red Bluff walked away with a 6-2 win over Pleasant Valley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
The team relied heavily on Jett Bonham, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kelan Elliott also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
The victory got Red Bluff back to even at 5-5. As for Chico, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Red Bluff's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chico hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. It's a different story for Red Bluff, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Chico's hitters?
