The Locust Grove Wildcats struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Union Grove Wolverines had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Locust Grove was dealt a 82-9 defeat at the hands of the Wolverines. Locust Grove was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-4.
Leading Union Grove to victory were Nadea Smith and Jordan Brooks. Smith scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Brooks scored 15 points along with six assists and four steals. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Baker, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Locust Grove has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Union Grove, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1.
Locust Grove will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union Grove, they will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ola will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Wolverines are ranked eighth).
