Softball Recap: Bravo Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

Bravo got themselves on the board against Lincoln on Friday, but Lincoln never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Tigers. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Hazel Medrano was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Lexie Avila was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Leila Alvizo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Bravo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Bravo's record now sits at 8-2. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bravo will venture away from home to face off against Wilson at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Mules at the right time seeing as the Mules are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to challenge Marshall at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
