The North Springs Spartans will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Northview Titans at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, North Springs lost to Chattahoochee at home by a decisive 61-42 margin. While losing is never fun, North Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Chattahoochee is ranked 80th).
Despite the loss, North Springs got a solid performance out of Esmer Madesko, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 40.5% of North Springs' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Harris, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Northview, who are still winless after their 19th matchup. They were the victim of a tough 64-38 defeat at the hands of Forsyth Central on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Northview has suffered since December 12, 2023.
North Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Northview, they bumped their record down to 0-19 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight at home.
North Springs took their victory against Northview in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 70-46. Will North Springs repeat their success, or does Northview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
