This season hasn't been kind to the Shady Spring Tigers, who are still winless after their 13th contest. They fell just short of Midland Trail by a score of 31-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Shady Spring of the 44-27 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Shady Spring's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Lilly, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Lilly posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Megan Hendrick, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Shady Spring's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Midland Trail, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Shady Spring has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for Midland Trail, they will head out on the road to take on the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
