Yazoo County never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Edwards on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 17-2 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Will Andrews made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Graelan Shaffer was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Yazoo County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Josh Snow was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Yazoo County has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Edwards, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

As for Edwards, they will face off against Humphreys County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
