In what's become a running theme this season, the Smiths Station Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-35 margin over Booker T. Washington. The win was just what Smiths Station needed coming off of a 68-41 defeat in their prior game.
Smiths Station's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jatayah Bryant, who scored 23 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Bryant scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jasmyn Thomas, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Booker T. Washington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jessica Johnson, who scored eight points along with two steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylizea Sanders, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Smiths Station's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Booker T. Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Smiths Station does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Booker T. Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brewbaker Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Booker T. Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
