Fleming Island is 9-0 against Ridgeview since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ridgeview Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Fleming Island pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Tocoi Creek by a score of 62-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (57), Fleming Island still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Fleming Island had strong showings from Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Ayden Greenidge, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. Crawford scored a full 38.3% of Fleming Island's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luke Frisbee was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Meanwhile, Ridgeview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Clay, falling 72-22. Ridgeview was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-11.
Fleming Island's win bumped their season record to 3-2 while Tocoi Creek's loss dropped theirs to 2-2.
