The Sissonville Indians lost against the Hoover Huskies back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Sissonville fell 56-46 to the Huskies. Sissonville has struggled against the Huskies recently, as their match on Saturday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Sissonville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Casto, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Moore, who scored 13 points.
Sissonville struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Donovan Brown, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds for Hoover. It was the first time this season that Brown pulled down eight or more rebounds. Riley Johnson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Sissonville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Hoover, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sissonville will take on the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ripley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday. As for Hoover, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Logan is ranked 36th, while the Huskies are ranked 30th).
