The KIPP Collegiate phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the Trezevant Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, KIPP Collegiate didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Carroll, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. The win was just what KIPP Collegiate needed coming off of a 35-14 loss in their prior contest.
Kevin Garret was on fire: he rushed for 239 yards on only ten carries. Nathaniel Coleman did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards.
Trezevant never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hillcrest last Thursday. They breezed by the Vikings at home to the tune of 38-0.
KIPP Collegiate's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Trezevant, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.
KIPP Collegiate couldn't quite finish off Trezevant in their previous matchup back in October of 2019 and fell 2-0. Can KIPP Collegiate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
