The Parkdale Panthers will take on the High Point Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Parkdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.7 runs per game this season.
Parkdale will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Eleanor Roosevelt, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Raiders on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 24th.
Ewan Stark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parkdale got a big performance out of Chris Arredondo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those three hits gave Arredondo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gio Velasquez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, High Point waltzed into their game on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-1 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by ten runs or more this season.
Yojancel Soto and Ramon Brito Jr were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Soto struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Brito Jr tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Soto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Brito Jr got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Wander Pe?a and Keysi Matos did most of the damage at the plate: Pe?a went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Matos went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Pe?a has hit this season. Mathew Herrera was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.
High Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .407 or higher in four consecutive contests.
High Point pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Parkdale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Parkdale hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. However, it's not like High Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parkdale might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from High Point in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
