Football Recap: Bolles Piles Up the Points Against Riverside

Bolles extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 7-1. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 45-14 victory over the Riverside Generals. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Bolles found their leader in sophomore Asher Ghioto, who picked up four sacks and made eight total tackles (5.0 for loss). Xander Edwards is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Naeem Burroughs, who gained 51 total yards and three touchdowns.

Bolles' run defense was locked in: Riverside could only muster 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Simeon Caldwell for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bolles didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.9.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Bolles, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Burroughs, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Bolles is ranked 14th).

Riverside lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaidan Delaune, who threw for 260 yards and one TD while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.

Bolles wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 56-6 win against Wolfson on the 24th. As for Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-45 defeat against ED White on the 24th.
