Hale Ray is a perfect 10-0 against Coginchaug Regional since October of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Noises will host the Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. Hale Ray will be strutting in after a victory while Coginchaug Regional will be coming in after a loss.
While Hale Ray's win against North Branford wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Noises narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Thunderbirds 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Noises have posted since October 26, 2024.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Hale Ray got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 22-25, 25-22, 17-25, 15-12.

Hale Ray's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Fenway Jankowski, who had 14 digs, and Maggie Janecek, who had 34 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Janecek has posted since back in September of 2024. Elyse Taylor also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Hale Ray was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Coginchaug Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Old Lyme. While the Blue Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-20 in the first set.
Coginchaug Regional started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.
Hale Ray pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Coginchaug Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Hale Ray took their win against Coginchaug Regional in their previous matchup on September 8th by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Noises repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
