Mount Vernon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Hylton Bulldogs as they made off with an 18-5 win. For the Majors, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Talon Camacho, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Kelly, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Mount Vernon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.

Mount Vernon's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Hylton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Vernon will venture away from home to take on Annandale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Majors are facing the Atoms at the right time seeing as the Atoms are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hylton, they will head out on the road to challenge Charles J. Colgan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
