Even though the Trabuco Hills Mustangs scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the El Camino Wildcats still came out on top. El Camino snuck past Trabuco Hills with a 64-59 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given El Camino's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Trabuco Hills is ranked 33rd).
El Camino can attribute much of their success to Terrion Woodard, who scored 24 points. Woodard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Pomare, who scored 9 points.
The victory was the third in a row for El Camino, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Trabuco Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Camino is on the road again on Tuesday and play against La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Trabuco Hills, they will challenge El Toro at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
