Rome Free Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Henninger Black Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Rome Free Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Rome Free Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 118-58 victory over Notre Dame. Rome Free Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 39 points or more this season.
Uzziah Grimes was his usual excellent self, scoring 39 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Surafia Norries, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Henninger, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They took a 60-45 bruising from Fayetteville-Manlius two weeks ago.
Rome Free Academy pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.0 points per game. As for Henninger, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Rome Free Academy couldn't quite finish off Henninger in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 67-64. Can Rome Free Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
