Make it seven blowout wins for the North Stokes Vikings this season. They blew past Mount Airy 58-36. Winning may never get old, but North Stokes sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Mount Airy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mario Revels, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Rylan Venable was another key contributor, scoring six points.
North Stokes has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Mount Airy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Stokes will face off against South Stokes at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Stokes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully North Stokes likes a good challenge. As for Mount Airy, they will head out on the road to face off against Starmount at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
