East had to endure a nine-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Motivation Jaguars 68-43 on Friday. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Motivation still got an impressive performance from Chace White, who went 11 of 25 on his way to 28 points and three blocks. That was a full 65.1% of Motivation's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamal Bernard, who had eight points.

East's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Motivation, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1.

East and Tacony Academy Charter will face off at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Motivation, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-59 loss against Abraham Lincoln on the 27th.
