The Barrington Eagles will head out to square off against the Tiverton Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Barrington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Barrington is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past North Providence 19-5 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Maya Etheridge (2026) was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Aislinn McCoy (2025), who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Barrington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tiverton faced Cranston East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Thunderbolts 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 21st.
Lia Doster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carlie Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Jersey-Ann Hastie, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Barrington pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Tiverton, their record is now 16-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Barrington hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Tiverton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Barrington might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Tiverton in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
