Princeville extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-14. They lost 13-4 to the Mercer County Golden Eagles. If the Princes were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Claire Sutherland was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Sutherland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kam Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Stone, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Mercer County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Like Princeville, Mercer County also got a great game from a two-way player: Alivia Gillespie. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Gillespie was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Mercer County got a massive performance out of Jayden Weeks, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Lilly Nylin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coming up, Princeville will be playing in front of their home fans against Abingdon/Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercer County, they will challenge Sherrard at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
