The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Norfolk in their matchups with Pius X: they've now lost eight in a row.
Norfolk's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Swanson, who scored eight points. Taivien Winsley was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Norfolk struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Norfolk's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-7. As for Pius X, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Norfolk won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Benson on January 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Benson is ranked 199th, while Norfolk is ranked 189th). As for Pius X, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Grand Island at 7:30 p.m.
