The Thornton Trojans were the 39-34 winner over the Northglenn Norsemen when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Thornton took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northglenn on Saturday.
Thornton's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adrian Armendariz, who scored 8 points along with 3 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kainoa Miller, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Northglenn found their leader in underclassman Jacob Martin, who scored 8 points along with 16 rebounds. Martin hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Trevor Dean was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Thornton now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Northglenn, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Thornton is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Skyview at 4:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Northglenn, they will face off against Greeley West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greeley West is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
