The Northglenn Norsemen pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 72-58 bruising from Erie. Northglenn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northglenn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Uriah Duran, who scored nine points along with six steals and five assists. Duran has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Trevor Dean, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Leading Erie to victory were Marco Martinez and Christopher Smith. Martinez scored 17 points, while Smith dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Brayden Haan was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Northglenn has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Erie, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Northglenn will head out on the road to face off against Broomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Erie, they will be playing at home against Rocky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rocky Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Erie likes a good challenge.
