After flying high against the Magnet Cove Panthers on Saturday, the Maumelle Charter Falcons came back down to earth. Maumelle Charter took a serious blow against Dover on Tuesday, falling 64-32. While losing is never fun, Maumelle Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Dover is ranked 19th).
Logan Young was her usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with 6 rebounds for Dover. That makes it two consecutive games in which Young has scored at least 25% of Dover's points. Kenzie Mccrotty was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
Maumelle Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Dover, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Maumelle Charter will head out on the road to face off against Central Arkansas Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Arkansas Christian has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14. As for Dover, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jasper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
