2A/1A Rocky River recap Oct. 9, 2012
Forest Hills extended the longest winning streak in 2A/1A Rocky River this week by beating Union Academy, 42-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Monroe led the league in scoring this week after putting up 68 points on West Stanly.
Cuthbertson's dynamic duo of Austin Kendall and Emmitt Afam proved tough for North Stanly to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kendall threw for 354 yards and five touchdowns and Afam had 175 yards receiving. Chris DuChateau helped Cuthbertson's passing attack out by catching one ball for 70 yards.
C. J. Carelock was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 165 yards as Forest Hills beat the Comets. Teammate B. J. Ashcraft added to the ground attack by rushing for 22 yards.
On the ground, North Stanly's Antonio Williams has rushed for 1175 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Afam. The Cuthbertson star has 36 catches for 643 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cuthbertson takes on the Redhawks. Michael Roark's team is currently in third, while Monroe is in second.
