The Conifer Lobos are taking a road trip to face off against the D'Evelyn Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Conifer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Conifer proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Mountain, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lobos have posted since March 25th.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Ellis, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Janasiewicz, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, D'Evelyn came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-8 win. Considering the Jaguars have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kevyn Feldyn was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Cameron Holthaus also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
D'Evelyn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Conifer's record is now 8-6-1. As for D'Evelyn, their record now sits at 11-5.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Conifer hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like D'Evelyn struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Conifer might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from D'Evelyn when the teams last played last Monday. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
