Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Sequoyah didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Sapulpa Chieftains by a score of 55-44 on Friday. The Indians' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Sapulpa's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riki McQuarters, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Wrigley Adkisson, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals Adkisson has posted since back in January.

Sequoyah's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Sapulpa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Sequoyah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-47 victory against Glenpool on the 14th. Sapulpa has also already played their next game, a 63-45 defeat against Riverside Indian on the 14th.
