The Yorktown Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Winchester Community Golden Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Yorktown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Yorktown pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Castle by a score of 66-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (61), Yorktown still had to take the loss.
Kieran Tewari put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 19 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Connor Rowray, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Winchester Community was able to grind out a solid victory over Knightstown on Saturday, taking the game 56-45.
Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Winchester Community, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Yorktown was able to grind out a solid win over Winchester Community in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 56-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yorktown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
