The Middleburg Broncos will head out to challenge the Providence School Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Middleburg gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Interlachen 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Broncos as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Logan Wehrmeyer
Logan Wehrmeyer made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Middleburg is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 3-4 otherwise. Wehrmeyer was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
In other batting news, Johnny De Antonis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Providence School entered their tilt with Wolfson on Friday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 3-0. Three seems to be a good number for the Stallions as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Providence School also got a great performance from Ryan Smith as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Preston Ricchini, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Landis Pickett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Providence School pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Middleburg, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Middleburg has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Providence School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
