Softball Recap: Casey-Westfield Picks Up 11th Consecutive Victory

Casey-Westfield entered their tilt with Arthur-Okaw Christian on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Conquering Riders. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Casey-Westfield got a massive performance out of Hannah Schackmann, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Schackmann posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Moore, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Casey-Westfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arthur-Okaw Christian struck out 11 times.

Casey-Westfield pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Casey-Westfield will venture away from home to square off against Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they will head out to challenge St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
