The Fuqua Falcons had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 51-39 victory over Tidewater Academy on Thursday. Fuqua's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Fuqua to victory were Sam Minix and Mason Pleasants. Minix scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five assists, while Pleasants went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 2 assists. That's the first time this season that Pleasants scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ransom Clark, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Fuqua's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Tidewater Academy, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Fuqua will take on Southampton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southampton Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Tidewater Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Banner Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
