Collinsville is 7-0 against Claremore since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Collinsville Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Claremore Zebras at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Collinsville entered their tilt with Edison with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Collinsville breezed by Edison at home to the tune of 42-12. Given Collinsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Edison is ranked 173rd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Collinsville found their leader in underclassman Scott Rigby, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Skyler Moorman also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Claremore took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-14 victory over Will Rogers College.
Braxton Etheridge was his usual excellent self, throwing for 279 yards and four touchdowns. Gage Deckard did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 96 receiving yards.
Collinsville's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Nathan Hale and 1-8 Skiatook (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 18.8% over those games). As for Claremore, their win bumped their record up to 8-1-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Collinsville commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.3 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Claremore struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Collinsville was able to grind out a solid win over Claremore in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 28-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Collinsville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
