The Sand Creek Scorpions will head out to square off against the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Sand Creek got the win against Doherty by a conclusive 3-0. The Scorpions haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 25-14.

Jacob Bridge and Aiden Moss were among the main playmakers for Sand Creek as the former had ten digs and three aces and the latter had ten digs and two aces. Those three aces gave Bridge a new career-high.
They weren't the only good server: Sand Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matches.
Fountain-Fort Carson had won two straight games and Alex Gio Nicandro did his part to make it three on Tuesday. Fountain-Fort Carson was the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Mesa Ridge which was due in part to Nicandro, who had 25 digs and five aces. He has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times he's played.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-10.
Fountain-Fort Carson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Sand Creek, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Sand Creek has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Fountain-Fort Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Sand Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Fountain-Fort Carson when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Does Sand Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fountain-Fort Carson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
