The Master's Academy Lions stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-17 win over Lake Lure Classical Academy on the road. With The Master's Academy ahead 37-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Faith Yelton was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Bell, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
The Master's Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Master's Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Arianna Ritz and Yelton. Lake Lure Classical Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethel Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
