The Colonial Christian Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-28 walloping at the hands of Grace Baptist Academy. Colonial Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grace Baptist Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November.
Despite the loss, Colonial Christian saw an underclassman step up: Kevin Gomez scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Gomez's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Bertrand, who scored 5 points.
Colonial Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Grace Baptist Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Colonial Christian will head out on the road to face off against Redland Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grace Baptist Academy, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
