The Catalyst-Maria Wolves won the last time they faced the Air Force Academy Falcons, and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went Catalyst-Maria's way against Air Force Academy as Catalyst-Maria made off with a 47-27 win. Given Catalyst-Maria's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Air Force Academy is ranked 557th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Melvina Jordan, who scored 11 points. Jordan scored a full 40.7% of Air Force Academy's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Catalyst-Maria and bumps their season record up to 3-3. As for Air Force Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catalyst-Maria will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Gage Park at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Air Force Academy, they will square off against Carver at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carver will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
