With a playoff game on the line, the Cheylin Cougars rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 54-8 win over Ingalls. Fans of Cheylin have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
It was another big night for Logan McCarty, who rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Harley McPherson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The victory for Cheylin keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 58.5 points. As for Ingalls, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Cheylin will square off against Ashland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashland is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Ingalls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
