In what's become a running theme this season, the Navajo Prep Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They breezed by Zuni at home to the tune of 59-31. Winning may never get old, but Navajo Prep sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
It was another big night for Xavier Nez, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. Breygen Benally was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Navajo Prep is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Zuni, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-13.
Navajo Prep will be playing at home against Shiprock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Navajo Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 games. As for Zuni, they will head out on the road to take on Crownpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
