The SkyView Academy Hawks lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 62-12 loss at the hands of Dayspring Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points SkyView Academy has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, SkyView Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Dayspring Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Eboselulu Omofoma scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals and Faith Hayward scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Omofoma has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizzy Casey, who scored no points along with six assists and five rebounds.
SkyView Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
SkyView Academy will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Dayspring Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Gilpin County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
