After a string of three wins, Forest's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Beachside Barracudas by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Barracudas apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Forest started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-18, 15-10.
Jeremy Croft paced Forest's offense, picking up 14 kills. Croft got some help from Lincoln Kim and his 22 assists. Landon Nuzum controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Forest's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Beachside, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.
Coincidentally, Forest and Beachside will both be playing Gulf Breeze the next time they take the court. The Barracudas will head out to face the Dolphins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
