In what's become a running theme this season, the Sahuaro Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 71-25 victory over Canyon del Oro. The win was nothing new for Sahuaro as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Sahuaro found their leader in underclassman Cisco Llamas, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Llamas is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Ayumu Lara was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Sahuaro pushed their record up to 20-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Canyon del Oro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-9.
Sahuaro will head out on the road to challenge the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Averaging 58.04 points so far this season, Salpointe Catholic's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Cougars better be ready for a challenge. As for Canyon del Oro, they will be playing at home against the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
