Among those leading the charge was Noah Shoemaker, who scored 27 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Fales, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Chase County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jensen Olsen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Easton Fries was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Chase County struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cozad racked up 12.
Cozad's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Chase County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Cozad will head out on the road to face off against Maxwell at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chase County, they will be playing at home against McCook on Friday.
