The Mountain View Thunder had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Heritage, posting a 56-12 win at home. The result was nothing new for Mountain View, who have now won three matches by 25 points or more so far this season.
Cash Cook was his usual excellent self, throwing for 125 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes. Cook is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Porter Drake, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Mountain View's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for Heritage, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Richland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Richland is ranked 58th, while Mountain View is ranked 45th). As for Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
