Fans got a thrill when Will Grier and Glen Coates connected against North Raleigh Christian Academy. The connection went for 86 yards, the longest such play in NCISAA Freelance this season.
Davidson Day was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Davidson Day vanquished the Knights 68-0 earlier in the week.
Chad Grier's team's dynamic duo of Grier and Coates proved tough for North Raleigh Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Grier threw for 361 yards and 7 touchdowns and Coates had 125 yards receiving. Jacob Robinson helped Davidson Day's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 61 yards.
Davidson Day's dynamic duo of Grier and Coates proved to be unstoppable against Rich Landis' team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He went 17-24 with 0 interceptions.
Gerrio Rahming was the best running back in the league this week. In 32 carries, he ran for 285 yards as Rabun Gap-Nacoochee bested the Knights. Teammate Gabriel Lopes added to the ground attack by rushing for 38 yards.
Rahming was a force in the backfield as the Eagles fell to Christ School.
Coates was the best receiver in NCISAA Freelance this week as Davidson Day beat North Raleigh Christian Academy.
Grier put up the best numbers in passing as Davidson Day beat the Knights.
6-foot-3 quarterback Grier of Davidson Day is the league leader in passing yards this season with 670. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kylia Sykes. The Trinity Christian star has 6 catches for 163 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cannon takes on Trinity Christian. The Cougars are in second place, while the Crusaders are in third place.
Davidson Day took down North Raleigh Christian Academy 68-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Grier during the win.
