The St. Pius X Sartans will head out on the road to take on the Rio Grande Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Pius X will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
St. Pius X had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Valencia on Tuesday. The Sartans were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Jaguars. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sartans yet this season.

Jacob Madrid was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of St. Pius X's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Jax Mulville was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zain Unis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
St. Pius X always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valencia only posted an OBP of .190.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rio Grande, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Atrisco Heritage Academy on Friday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
The team relied heavily on Sebastian Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Luis Salinas was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
The win got Rio Grande back to even at 9-9. As for St. Pius X, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
St. Pius X was able to grind out a solid win over Rio Grande in their previous meeting back in March, winning 11-8. Do the Sartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
