If the Middleton Vikings were feeling good off their 59-27 takedown of the Ridgevue Warhawks on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Middleton suffered a tough 55-35 defeat at the hands of Boise on Tuesday. Middleton has not had much luck with Boise recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Middleton had strong showings from Zoey Blackwell, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, and Miley Steele, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Avery Howell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boise, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Howell has scored at least 25% of Boise's points. Another player making a difference was Kaity Haan, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Boise, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middleton will play host again and welcome Kuna, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kuna is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Boise, they will be playing at home against Bishop Kelly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Kelly will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
