Ohio Valley AA recap Oct. 3, 2012
Shadyside extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Valley AA this week by beating Beallsville, 41-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Tigers.
Toronto moved up to 680 from 711 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Red Knights were able to make the jump by beating St. John Central 48-28.
Catholic Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brenton Colabella threw for 304 and five touchdowns and Johnny Dicarlantonio had 85 yards receiving. On the ground Doug Maslowski chipped in 36 yards. Ryan Fletcher helped Catholic Central's passing attack out by catching three balls for 60 yards.
Catholic Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Crusaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Colabella has thrown for 1613 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Zach Herrington has 27 catches for 485 yards. Maslowski leads the league in rushing with 315 yards.
The Crusaders took down Conotton Valley 54-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Colabella in the win.
