The Dayton Dust Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Elko, falling 54-21. Dayton lost against Elko in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 65-55 score last time.
Aileen Hernandez was Dayton's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Ayisha Agee held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Elko got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Roxanne Keim out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Johns, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Dayton dropped their record down to 6-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Elko, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12.

Churchill Countypresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dayton in Nevada (Churchill County is ranked 20th, while Dayton is ranked 64th).
