Saturday saw a surprise upset in South Carolina where
St. James (Murrells Inlet, S.C.) triumphed over
Wilson (Florence, S.C.) 42-21.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, St. James led 28-7 at the half.
SJ saw its 21-point halftime lead fall to 14 entering the fourth.
Austin Adams was the top performer for the Murrells Inlet school. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Tigers took, 31-7.
The win was a nice bounce back for St. James, which lost to Georgetown last week, 35-20.
In a AAA Region VII game next week St. James (2-5) takes on Myrtle Beach, and Wilson (2-5) will go up against North Myrtle Beach also in a AAA Region VII game.
